The new refurbished office and townhall for defence engineers, Thornton Tomasetti Defence Ltd

Anchorpoint were appointed as D & B partners to strip out and refurbish an existing industrial unit into state of the art office and seminar facility to accommodate an expansion to the business. Thornton Tomasetti were aware of the challenges in making this type of building suitable as an office environment and are delighted that we exceeded their expectations.

Due to staff expansion, Thornton Tomasetti Defence Limited, expanded into an adjacent unit to their current offices in St David’s Business Park, Dalgety Bay. Comprising of 5000sq.ft office & workshop space, Unit 1 was in need of a full refurbishment to bring the space up to state and fully functional.

During a staged programme, Anchorpoint developed the initial concept design, and transformed the existing traditional building into a new office with new open plan office, townhall and collaboration space, individual managers’ offices and meeting facilities, with quiet working booths and a hot office. Specialist data and security requirements were incorporated in the design to meet the client’s tight specifications, and a new mechanical ventilation system was designed and installed to replace the obsolete equipment.

High open ceilings and exposed services reflected the clients business and expertise in engineering, and created a bright open space. Corporate colours were carefully used to align the space with the company brand, and maintaining an uncluttered and light atmosphere.
